no shopping, Cher or Christina, frangible, and extended family
2002-11-29 4:34 p.m.

i am happy to day i did not goe shopping today. [he he that rhymes] it is too stress full and i find it to be not really worth it.

this is comparison of Christina and Cher: http://people.aol.com/people/pop_up/0,10772,392048_1_photos,00.html

i am not sure how i feel about this but i think it is sad.

so uhh yeah, a word:

frangible (FRAN-juh-buhl) adjective

Readily broken; breakable.

[From Middle English, from Old French, from Medieval Latin frangibilis, from

Latin frangere (to break). The same Latin root is responsible for breaking in a number of other words, such as chamfer, defray, fraction, refract, infringe, and fracture.]

"Wax discs are frangible: a lost flake is an irretrievable snippet of sonic memory." Alan Burdick, Now Hear This, Harper's Magazine (New York), Jul 2001.

"I can never read reviews of my own movies. I'm terrified to find out

what the barbaric world thinks of my trembly filmic dreams and, by extension, my overly frangible soul." Guy Maddin, Very Lush and Full of Ostriches, The Village Voice (New York), Aug 7, 2001.

This week's theme: kangaroo words, words that have a joey (a smaller wordwith a similar sense) within them. The word "frangible" has three generations of kangaroos: its joey "fragile" which in turn has its own little one "frail".

reasons why my extended family on my dad's side is amazing:

1. you get emails that read as follows:

"Hi everyone, I've been a little lame. Brett graduates from College next Tuesday night. He'll have a degree in computer animation. I haven't had time to send out cards...too busy grading algebra papers for my algebra classes. Yes, I am once again being insane and teaching. I thought my brain had turned into mush before. Ha. Anyway, if you get a chance to send an email or a card it would be great. Thanks guys. Sorry about the short notice. Also, Jennette took her first starring role last night as Anne in the Diary of Anne Frank. She became Anne for me. The set and acting is amazing. WHen we talked after the show, we discussed how for her first lead role she had to die. Hopefully it goes up from here. Tonight I will bering tissues. BEn has been in some ballroom dancing competitions in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Smokey is playing out in the yard as we speak, finally has the day off. I think he is covered in mud. Hope you are all well...got to go get some flowers. Diana.

AMAZING. a little background might be in order. My dad's step brother is Smokey, his wife is Diana and they have three children Ben(21 or 22), Brett(20), and Jennette(17). i am not positive about the ages but they are pretty close. i always look foward to their letters and emails since we never get to see them and they are all like this and they are great.

ok i am going to practice the trombone and the banjo.
