alaska
2007-09-07 3:52 p.m.

hello. i am now living in alaska. i finally have internets in my room!

fairbanks is mostly a beautiful place. i have never seen so many beautiful flowers. i should photograph them before the frost.

i am not crazy about living here but i am doing ok for now.

i now have internet in my room despite yesterday's internet outage:

Activity type OUTAGE: UNSCHEDULED

Subject: Internet Connectivity

Scope: All network traffic between Fairbanks and Anchorage, including Internet 2, Commodity Internet, Juneau, Valdez, and Eagle River, is down.

Duration: Unknown

Description: A fiber optic cable was cut between Cantwell and Talketna. This caused a network outage between Fairbanks and Anchorage, disconnecting Anchorage, Juneau, Valdez, and Eagle River from Fairbanks. This also disconnected all sites from the Internet 2 and Commodity Internet.

That is crazy! 1 fiberoptic cable and half of alaska is no longer conneceted to the internet? i hope this doesn't happen often.

the tv show Home Improvement is now on Nick at Night, which is cool b/c i can watch it, but sad b/c it makes me feel old.

oh yeah, so i have free cable in my dorm, but it is sad b/c the 2 channels i would like to watch the most, disney and tv food network, are not offered. boo. i guess beggars cant be choosers.

oh and explodingdog and married to the sea are both flurishing! check out the hilarity found in the links located to the left
