this weekend was good, but too short
lots of good live music, praise Jesus, it has been too long.
the Bac'untry Bruthers = tres magnific
(to my fellow important people members, i finally found a band who has as good of a time as we did and likes to use a variety of instruments from oven racks to kazoos. they even covered Melanie's Brand New Key! i never thought i would see another band cover that one)
the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra with guest pianist Jerome Rose for Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, OP 83. I must say though his performance was nothing less than excellent, it was overshadowed slightly by the exquisite solo by principal cellist Minna Rose Chung during the third movement Intermezzo. they also performed Dvok Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, OP. 95 in the second half, good oboes and great low brass.
also i ate moose head soup, which was good, but now that i think about it, it makes me feel all-overish.
oh and i got a new world map! it is big and pretty but not a good projection, the old Mercator 1569, bastard! now our shared space is really the map room. i might get some more too.
ah maps, a great way to spatially represent data and bring joy to my heart.
this week is loaded with BS, peace out till the calm after the storm on thursday
