sorry it has been a while.

i was sick, then i went to bonnaroo and got sicker, and now i am almost better.

but bonnaroo was AWESOME! i had tons of fun and a shout out to Machel and Alyssa for keeping it real the whole time.

so here is part one of the semi-log that i kept during bonnaroo.

10:40 PM � I am driving to Louisville, KY to meet Machel and Alyssa to drive to Bonnaroo tomorrow. I just passed someplace called Big Bone Lick State Park. Oh Kentucky, really, what were you thinking.

CENTRAL STANDARD TIME

7:26 AM � �What a great way of spatially representing data� � jessm

≈10:00 AM � Bongo Java to see the Nun Bun

11:50 PM � We got off at Exit 127 for Bonnaroo

12:05 PM � Let the waiting in line begin

12:54 PM � still waiting, it should be noted that Alyssa is filing her nails out the window and so is the girl in the car 2 cars behind us in line

12:58 PM � still waiting, there is a cute old man sitting in his driveway selling �treats� to the people waiting in line such as brownies and lemonade

3:22 PM � we finally made it through the checkpoint where they search your car for glass and other illegal and prohibited items

3:25 PM � they have taken our tickets, the car in front of us has a Jesus fish that says CTHULHU inside of it with some fins and wiggly stuff. I found it what CTHULHU means

6:57 PM � we have set up camp and made some delicious food. Our neighbors are all shady shade shade. So far we have been offered for purchase: ecstasy, �mushroom chocolates for dessert,� glass pipes

9:27 PM � jessm compares Nicole Atkins to Anne of Green Gables in being very dramatic about everything

7:11 AM � luckily everyone is loud and awake now so we are up too. Notes from/since last night:

• the centeroo fountain looks like a giant mushroom and people dance around in it to cool off. We watched people do this for about an hour last night. It was very funny except for this one middle aged dude who started creepily videotaping teen/twenty-something girls with wet t-shirts.
  
• also since last night we have also been offered: coke, blow, mushrooms, acid, opium, marijuana brownies, and ganja treats and this dude claims �they�re really good�
  
• our campsite is the most unorganized and cramped section in this entire facility b/c the guy that was parking us was a bug jerk. Everywhere else there are neat rows and people have actually space and tents are not touching each other. At our campsite there is barely room to move and everyone�s tents are touching. I compare it to Hooverville in Central Park, NYC during the depression.
  
• our neighbors are taking lots and lots of drugs, the ones to the left don�t seem to go to see any music they just stay in their tent and take drugs, the ones to the right are loud and obnoxious and this one dude snores like a chainsaw, it was so loud and unpleasant and made it hard to sleep
  

3:46 PM � the Tegan and Sara show was TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and we also had some hilarious audience members around us. My favorite was this flaming gay dude right behind us who was at least 6� 4� tall maybe taller. He might have loved Tegan and Sara even more than I love them, which is hard to do. Also we were attacked by these really annoying high school-ish short girls covered in glitter lotion that tried to get in front of us but only partially succeeded. I like to call them micro dykes but it is up for debate whether they were dykes or hippies. I would certainly never date them either way, dreds and glitter lotion don�t go, also rudeness is very uncool. There were also lots of chode-y high school boys and boyfriends of girls who were clearly dragged to see Tegan and Sara unwillingly.

3:59 PM � chick with fairy wings sewn into her shirt

6:12 PM � this little girl sitting in front of us has been applying temporary tattoos for about 10 minutes now. She mostly accomplishes this by sucking water out of her dad�s camel pak and spitting it onto her arm until the temporary tattoo is wet enough to remove the paper backing.

6:24 PM � Rilo Kiley is pretty good. There is a women in her late 40�s/early fifties wearing high wasted and pleated black cargo shorts with a white tank top tucked into them who is dancing hilariously.

7:20 PM � Lipstick lesbians who were holding hands reach up to give Alyssa a high five because after looking at us carefully assumed that Alyssa and Machel must be a couple. jessm had to explain this to Alyssa and Machel, while laughing hysterically.

7:35 PM � we pass a dad pushing a three year old girl in a wagon. This little girl had a lavender bikini painted onto her chest and her father kept yelling �can you feel the love? can you feel the love?�

7:42 PM � a giant moth that looks like a fairy followed us from the port-a-potties to the entrance of hooverville. Or it might have been a fairy. CAPTAIN�S NOTE: I am pretty sure what we saw was an adult Luna Moth

9:24 PM � �tomorrow is so hard, there is so much jumping around, it�s times like this that you wish you had hobbit feet� � jessm
