Bayou Healer Drums and the Red Stick Ramblers
2002-03-24 11:25 a.m.

hello,

soon i will be locked in my room finishing my research paper. i am very excited and dreading at the same time.

today's band: Bayou Healer Drums

no beans, i found nothing but i will go and be healed by their drums.

take 2; todays band: Red Stick Ramblers

Music Style: we play what has been described as Hedonistic Hillbilly Jazz...!?

The Red Stick Ramblers play a mixture of Cajun fiddle tunes,Western Swing, traditional jazz of the 1920s and 1930s alongside a steadily growing number of tradition-inspired originals. Based in Southern Louisiana, the Ramblers play the songs of seminal fiddlers like Dennis McGee and Dewey Balfa alongside those of jazz and country swing bandleaders such as Bob Wills and Django Reinhardt, finding a common thread of danceable rhythms and strong, elegant melodies.

my notes: they look very unique and seem to have a different style than other bands i have looked at. i vote yes.

visit their web page you can listen, look, and learn about the band and its memebers.
